Welcome to the Maloney Library. This guide has been prepared to give you an overview of the services provided to fulltime faculty by Fordham’s law library and to introduce you to the personnel that provide those services.
The staff of the Maloney Library prides itself on its strong commitment to faculty service. We are here to make sure that the universe of information, both legal and non-legal, is available to you when you need it. Each member of the Fordham Law School faculty is assigned a library liaison whose primary responsibility is to help you locate the information that your teaching and scholarship depend on. If we cannot locate what you are looking for at the Fordham Law School Library or at one of the three other Fordham University libraries, we have a very active interlibrary loan office which can call upon the resources of a huge network of major research libraries worldwide. Our reference desk, staffed exclusively with JD holders (or their equivalent), is open six days a week, typically from 9:30AM to 7:30PM on weekdays, and from 10AM-6PM on Sundays, to respond to your immediate research needs. At your request, librarians can come to your classroom to deliver high quality research instruction to your students. The Maloney Library is your full service information hub. We look forward to working with you.

The library maintains a comprehensive array of electronic legal information resources as well as an open-stack collection of over 250,000 volumes and 5,300 serial titles held in two locations. Newer, more frequently used, and continuously updated materials are held in the the Maloney Library. Older and less frequently used materials are held in the Law Annex. The Maloney Library comprises the 5th and 6th floor of the Fordham Law School building. The entrance, reference and circulation desks and the main reading room are on the 5th floor. Collaborative study rooms, a computer lab, the Cronin Café, and a 24 hour study area are on the 6th floor. Eleven professional librarians, two para-professionals, five full-time clerks and several part-time student assistants staff the library. Information on library hours, policies, and services can be found here. Fordham University’s Lincoln Center library, the Quinn Library, is at 140 W. 62nd Street. The Law Annex is in basement of the Lowenstein building. Please ask a librarian to page books from the Law Annex. It is currently a closed collection.

Fordham University Libraries
Fordham University has three other libraries which you may also use in person and access on-line. The Walsh Library is the main University library on the Rose Hill campus. The Quinn Library, in addition to holding older and less frequently used law materials, holds collections supporting the graduate programs in business, education, and social work as well as a basic undergraduate collection. In Westchester, Fordham maintains a basic collection supporting programs on that campus. The holdings of the Walsh, Quinn, and Westchester libraries and the University's subscriptions to numerous non-law on-line databases can be accessed via the Fordham University Library homepage.
