Faculty Guide to the Maloney Library: Current Awareness Services

New Title Notification

Upon the Library’s receipt of a new title, e-mail notification is sent to faculty members researching or teaching in that subject area and held for seven (7) days to allow any interested faculty members to request the book. To elect to have the title charged out and delivered please reply to the notification e-mail or contact the Document Delivery Department at docdellib@law.fordham.edu or 212-636-6768

Table of Contents Service

The table of contents for all major journals are scanned by the library and emailed to the faculty on most business days.

Faculty members can request copies of any of these articles from Document Delivery at 212-636-6768 or via email at docdellib@law.fordham.edu and they will be delivered by the next day.

Current Awareness Newsletter

The Maloney Law Library is committed to providing real-time news and current awareness to keep you up-to-date on practice areas, research topics, and other information.  The Library subscribes to a service called Manzama, which will create an individualized newsletter supporting your research and teaching needs.

This Manzama newsletter provides two key benefits for faculty: 1) it consolidates news and other alerts in one place personalized to your interests, and 2) it introduces you to new resources that you would not otherwise know about in order to assist your work.

This newsletter can include information from (and run advanced searches on) blogs, websites, newspapers, SSRN, Twitter, and other online publications.  It can also incorporate existing subscription alerts you might have into one place, such as alerts from Westlaw or Bloomberg. Contact your library liaison or the Reference Desk (refdesk@law.fordham.edu or 212-636-6908) if you are interested in receiving this service or any other alert services, such as New York Law Journal alerts, Chronicle of Higher Education updates, or Bloomberg alerts.
